Stephen Robert DeVoy is a native New Englander, born in May of 1962 near Boston, Massachusetts. Stephen is a computer scientist, philosopher, and political writer. Stephen DeVoy currently resides in Mexico City, Mexico.
In 1994, Mr. DeVoy was an observer in the Salvadoran elections. While there he met his future wife.
In 2001, Stephen coined the term “Meme Warfare” and became the primary promulgator of the political philosophy “Rational Anarchism.”
Immediately following the attacks of September 11, 2001, Stephen DeVoy created a website called “Stop Fascism.” Mr. DeVoy made the claim that the administration of the U.S. Government at that time was a nascent fascist state. His claims were considered highly controversial. It was a time of blind patriotism, flag waving, and fear. Mr. DeVoy suffered profoundly from a backlash against him for his Stop Fascism website. Mr. DeVoy and his family received death threats and were stalked by a group of right wing fanatics organized by a hate website.
At the end of 2002, Stephen DeVoy created the John Poindexter Awareness Office a cyber form of direct political action. The John Poindexter Awareness Office was Mr. DeVoy's answer to DARPA's Information Awareness Office and Total Information Awareness project. DARPA's program was reviewed by the Senate, in part a result of Mr. DeVoy's website, and funding was cut off.
Mr. DeVoy continued the fight against fascism until 2004, when he went underground in response to threats from the hate website against his wife and daughter. Recently he has reappeared and republished many of his old articles on a new website: Anarkhos. There remains today thousands of smear posts and impostor articles on the Internet fraudulently posted in Mr. DeVoy's name.
Currently, Stephen DeVoy lives in Burlington, Vermont.
